West Orange, NJ [May 18, 2023] - After 13+ years as the Director of Coaching for West Orange United FC, Lou Mignone will be stepping down at the end of the spring season. Coach Mignone will continue to serve as Director of the West Orange TOPSoccer program he founded, and as a trusted coach and advisor to the Mountain Top Soccer program. Taking the reins as Co-Directors of the West Orange United FC travel soccer program will be Doug Nevins and Sean DeVore, the current head coaches of the West Orange Boys and Girls Varsity teams, respectively. |

West Orange United FC expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Coach Mignone for his years of dedicated service to the youth of our community and looks forward to his continued involvement leading the award-winning TOPSoccer program, and with the popular Mountain Top Soccer program. Coach Mignone has brought exceptional knowledge, experience, and expertise to his work in West Orange, guiding players, mentoring coaches, and helping foster a love and appreciation of “the beautiful game” in players and their families. Doug Nevins brings an impressive background to his new role, having served as the Head Coach of the West Orange Boys Varsity Soccer Team for 23 years. With 26 years of teaching experience in West Orange, Coach Nevins has played a pivotal role in shaping the development of countless young athletes. His accomplishments include an impressive array of accolades, including six conference championships, two county championships, seven sectional championships, and two Group IV State Championships. He has been recognized as State Coach of the Year by NJ.com and the Soccer Coaches Association of New Jersey (SCANJ). Coach Nevins is also a distinguished member of the Seton Hall Prep Hall of Fame and the Villanova Hall of Fame. |

Sean DeVore, the current Head Coach of the West Orange Girls Varsity Soccer Team, brings his own wealth of experience and success to the club. In addition to his 18 years of teaching in the district, he has 21 years of coaching experience, including eight years as the boys varsity assistant and eight years as the head girls coach at West Orange. His achievements include three league championships, one Bergen County Championship, one North 1 Group 3 State Sectional Championship, and one Group 3 State Championship during his tenure at Northern Highlands. At West Orange, Coach DeVore has led the team to two SEC league championships, three Essex county championships, and one North 1 Group 4 State Sectional Championship. In recognition of his coaching prowess, Coach DeVore was named the 2018 NJ.com State Coach of the Year.
