WOUFC SPRING 2021 COVID PLAN
1. WOUFC follows COVID health and safety guidelines published by the CDC, New Jersey State Department of Health, and Township of West Orange, as well as additional guidance provided by US Club Soccer, New Jersey Youth Soccer and the leagues in which our teams play.
2. At all West Orange fields, masks are required for all players, parents, coaches, referees and spectators. In addition, masks are required for WOUFC players, parents and coaches at away games, regardless of home team rules. Players must wear masks when arriving at and leaving the field, and at any time when not engaging in active play or taking water breaks. Player mask use will be encouraged during any down time during the session, and is optional (allowed but not required) during active play.
3. For practices, all players, coaches and parent managers must enter Lincoln field (our practice field) by the gate under the scoreboard for screening purposes. No other entrances may be used.
4. Players, coaches and parent managers who will be on the field at any time during any practice or game must complete the electronic Health Check on TeamSnap show their Health Check clearance upon arrival at the field. Anyone without a cleared Health Check will be asked to leave the field area immediately. If a player, the player’s parent or guardian will be contacted for pick-up and the parent will be kept separated from others present at the field until the parent or guardian arrives.
5. Only properly screened players, coaches and parent managers will be allowed inside the gate during practices. Parents are welcome to watch practice from outside the gate or in the bleachers,,but must remain masked and should maintain social distance when possible.
6. Once cleared, players will be directed to place their belongings at socially-distanced spaces within their team’s practice area. Teams will be kept separated during the practice sessions, unless they are scrimmaging another team, and attendance at all sessions will be kept.
7. Players must bring their own ball and water to each session. Absolutely no sharing of water or equipment will be permitted, with the exception of the ball in play. Players should have their own hand sanitizer available. WOUFC will have hand sanitizer available at the field as well.
8. Players will have sport-based contact during play, but during breaks in play and at all other times social distancing will be encouraged. No high-fives, handshakes, hugs or other celebrations or greetings are permitted.
9. All equipment (cones, etc.) will be thoroughly cleaned between sessions, and high-touch areas will be cleaned frequently throughout the session. Only the coach will handle equipment. Players have been issued their own pinnie, which they should bring to each session. Coaches may provide pinnies for players’ use during the session so long as they are washed before and after the session and there is no sharing of pinnies during the session.
10. Players’ uniforms, ball and other equipment should be cleaned and their hands washed thoroughly before and after each practice.
